After all, we can’t have something that is safe and uses virtually no natural resources (at least not on a continuing basis) to supply us power. Not polluting the planet seems so…un-American.
No. I mean, it’s going to be so hard to use solar power all across the US. That is going to be soooo expensive. And we’d have to change so much. Not that I think that we shouldn’t. We should eventually. And we should be putting in some money to do a whole lot of research and figuring out how to make it work for us. But Germany is much smaller than the US. I asked my dad why other countries were able to successfully do things like this and every single time the answer was “They are a much smaller country than us, we have some of these things but it’s going to take a lot more money and a lot longer for us to do this than it will for them”
I want to blame red tape but honestly I don’t think that’s it. I think americans are just too greedy and short-sighted. And look: Green energy is fucking expensive. Coal and oil are cheap. So which do you think the american public is going to embrace?
I feel like a lot of people think that since they’ll be dead in less than a hundred years, what happens after that isn’t their problem. But at this rate, their lives are going to get shittier and shittier, if not actually shorter entirely.
